Schisandra also know as Magnolia Vine or Wu Wei Zi, is a woody vine with numerous clusters of tiny bright red berries. Schisandra is found throughout the northern and northeast parts of China, aswell as the adjacent regions of Russia and South Korea.

The name given to Schisandra "Wu Wei Zi" translates to "five flavor fruit" as Schisandra contains the five basic flavors in Chinese herbal medicine; salty, sweet, sour, spicy and bitter. It is typically used as a remedy to treat various ailments such as Infections, insomnia, coughing and dehydration and skin disorders and is used for general health and well-being.
