The most concentrated source of Harmala alkaloids are the seeds of Syrian Rue also known as Peganum Harmala. Syrian Rue contains about 2% of mixed Harmala alkaloids. Used with a visionary brew, shamans would combine Syrian Rue with DMT containing plants to prevent the fast breakdown of the substance to produce sensational hallucinogenic effects. When Syrian Rue was used without visionary herbs it could also produce mild hallucinogenic effects.
